Custom widgets are widgets within Pages that allow users (admins) to add third-party applications that integrate with Happeo.
Custom widgets are a great way to add new integrations to your Happeo. You can run anything inside a custom widget and add it to one or multiple pages. The best part about custom widgets are that they are context aware, this means that you can display personalised content inside the widget.
There are two types of custom widgets: Custom Embedded Widget and Custom Component Widget.
Custom Component Widget
Custom component widgets are an advanced version of custom widgets. To read how to build one, please check the following resources:

Custom Embedded Widget
Embedded widgets are another type of widget which display data inside an iframe. They receive also information about the context they are rendered, but do not have access to the widgetSDK.
